I want to import a simple cylinder from Blender as an obj. but when i import it, it looks broken. Are my settings wrong when exporting from blender maybe? Using latest version (7.3.83)

Could be a couple of things but likely the direction of the OBJ you intend to use. If you can - send us a support ticket with more info on what you're encountering, possibly the file and we can take a closer look! http://marvelousdesigner.com/support/contact
Found the solution. The mesh has to be triangulated when exporting as obj.
