Hello,
I made a 25fps animated character from Daz, then I import it in Marvelous to run a cloth simulation.
Then I export the cloth sim with Alembic Ogawa, 25fps (Alembic menu, on the right of 24, 30, 60 the fps selection )
BUT when I import the original fbx character file and the Alembic clot simulation in C4D, they don't match. It end up having the mesh overlapping. I couldn't figure it out a way!
THEN I realize something important! The same FBX file is not interpreted the same way in C4D and in Marvelous designer. At a certain frame, the position of the character is not exactly the same.
So my guess is in MD, we shouldn't import a FBX at 25fps. To run a cloth animation.
What fps should I import in Marvelous? 30fps? 24fps?
But also in my C4D scene everything is settle to 25fps how can I bring back the Alembic to 25fps then?
( i did try the step frame, and all other option in the Alembic export menu, it didnt help )
Hello @...,
Thank you for contacting us!
According to your inquiry, as for the FBX file format, we don't have a setting for FPS for now. We are currently based on 30fps in the Marvelous Designer software.
I recommend this way to you.
Change on C4D to 30FPS > Work on Marvelous Designer in 30FPS > Change on C4D to 25FPS
I hope this information helps you! Should have further question, please let us know :) Have a lovely day!
I tried and made few experiment, and indeed it worked!
If you need to make a render that is not 30fps
Make 30fps animation -> import in marvelous, make the simulation -> export in 30fps -> import in C4D 30fps project setting
THEN
COPY in a 25fps project setting C4D scene.
Thank you for the help!
