Hello, I'm wondering how can I animate my garment after remeshing. I know it breaks the sewing lines after I remesh and I've tried to put them back but the simulation gets very funky and I cannot animate this. Is their a solution for attaching cloth animation to remeshed garments in MD? I attempted to export out the garment, weld points in Maya, but realized when I brought it back in, I can't simulate it again. I'm wondering now others deal with animating a remeshed garments. I really need the mesh to be as simple as possible since I am hoping to put this into VR.
There are a few types of remeshing. You can remesh patterns from tri-mesh to quad mesh, and you can use retopography to also remesh your high poly garment in tri-mesh to a lower poly quad mesh. So you maybe need to state which process you are talking about. Then we can maybe help.
When animating you would typically decide what type of process you are using in advance and with your external pipeline - so you may need to describe what that is so we can point you to the right process.
