Hi. I seem to be having a nightmare with my Animation in MD.
I have dressed my character, and the clothes fit snug like a bug. All settings are fine from particle distance to thickness/friction with simulation settings set to quality with correct settings.
When I simulate my animation, it does it perfectly to the end, but when I hit the play back. It plays 1 quarter of the animation fine, and then the garment turns into a big pile of mish-mash polygons. Then from the frame it gets corrupted, I'll continue to simulate it, but then on play back the same mish-mash will happen further on into the animation. Then its just a case of rinse and repeat until hopefully I get to the end of the animation if that makes sense.
I took a screenshot but I'm not sure how to upload it.
Hi Jay,
Thank you for contacting us,
This is a bug and we have reported to our development team. Sorry for the inconvenience. In the main time, please use Marvelous Designer 10 to bake your animation if you have access to it as this bug is not present in MD10.
Best regards,
Marvelous Designer Support Team
Hi thanks for your reply. I'm actually on the last 200th frame of completing backing my animation. I managed a work around(previous comment)into achieving it. Hopefully exporting it as a pc2 or alembic will be ok.
Out of curiosity I'll seen if a student has version 10 to see if it will work.
Thanks again for your reply.
Hi again. You mentioned the problem isn't on MD 10, could you tell me what version of 10. Thanks
Hi Jay,
Sorry I have miss informed you. After further testing, this issue also exist in MD10. This issue occurs only when the garment is complex with long animation. It also depends on how much amount of ram your computer have.
If possible, you can optimize your scene to be able to record longer animation in one cache.
→Set the particle distance to 10mm for parts that does not require higher level of expression of wrinkles.
→Set the particle distance to 5mm for parts that require higher level of expression of wrinkles. If there is large quantity of layers set to 5mm, set all of them to 7mm.
Increasing Simulation Quality iteration number and Time Step will help you to get a stable simulation with higher particle distance.
