After making an auto fitting to a new Figure I noticed that the UV in the UV editor changed size. This means that a total new texture should be redone. Would it be possible that this is staying in place so that the new clothing can use the same texture set as the original? I know the geometry inside the mesh is different but at least the outside shape should stay the same so that we still can use the same texture template.
Hi Roulin Jacques
The Auto Fitting feature is resize the patterns to fit the avatar.
So, if you use this feature the pattern shapes will be changed.
And it causes the changes of UV. The Geometry of the patterns in Simulation mode is connected with the UV.
For now, we don't have a way to remain the UV when using Auto Fitting.
But you can use the 'Re-target Draping' tool on the 3D Toolbar.
This tool doesn't change the pattern shape.
So you can remain the UV and textures.
Thank you for the messages here. We'll trying to fix this UV issue of the Auto Fitting tool.
Thanks for your answer, I tried the Retarget Draping and if the Figures are not too different it works. Is this Re-target draping also new?
I see now that Re-target is part of the new facture. This is very useful. If possible, I would suggest you to document it a little better in the manual that the UV's are kept. This is a very important point for content creators.
Yes, the Re-target Draping tool is the new feature in the version 10.
Thank you for your advice! The manual of Re-target Draping has been updated.
