Hello everyone.
I am working with an imported animated FBX avatar and came upon this problem.
I tucked the shirt in the trousers using layers, set everything back to layer 0, but the waistband hovers around the avatar. It's measured exactly after the avatar and making it smaller makes no difference. I tried changing the pressure, avatar offset, but no luck.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?
The shirt looks like the offset from the avatar is correct, so it is probably the cloth/cloth collision which is effecting your pants. Click on the waistband fabric, and in the Property Editor, look for the Add'l Thickness settings for Collision. Default is 2.5mm. (Also, do you have the waistband with stiffening applied?)
Thank you for your answer. The waistband is strengthened, yes, but unstrengthening it makes no difference. The Add'l Thickness is 2.5mm and, again, changing it makes no difference.
Next thing to check is the size of your imported avatar. MD works on a real-world scale, and if the import has brought it in, at a too small scale, then the default settings (such as the avatar offset) will be too large by comparison. In the main menu, go to Avatar>Measurement>Height Measurement. Click the tool on the ground then drag it up to the top of the head. A good size would be in the 1500-2000mm range. Another quick way to check is use the File> Add Avatar option to add one of the default MD avatars to the scene, and visually compare them.
Problem fixed! I had been using GPU simulation, but normal simulation made the trousers drape perfectly against the avatar.
