Hey, Danny! The new site looks great, but once again, so many valuable posts are now inaccessible. Do you have an archived form of the old site which is available, or is there a standard URL conversion method to use?

Ah, well. I see from the Discord board that this is not possible. Such a pity.
Hello Rosemary, unfortunately it is not available to access the old forum links at the moment.
I will ask my team whether there is a way to provide the contents from old forum.
Perhaps the old content should simply be 'curated' into fixed archives so they cannot be spammed if the web architecture is aged > a distinct area that is inactive then retired after a period, so much of that content is now out of context given MD has matured over the 8+ years. It is certainly good to use as a reference during the interim, as many have invested energy in thread content they may want to migrate in some fashion but then equally, perhaps it's also time to script new responses using this new forum format.
What I am suggesting are the 'Archives' might be kept accessible for a limited period only, knowing that they will be retired at some future point (like many generally do for 6-12 months), that at least in some small part lets users migrate what they want to catch or use as the basis for updating into new content if they choose to write updated processes into contemporary workflows.
After a few years using the forum, and observing the many frequent daily questions, they do become circular ... that is - they repeat. And it is often less effort to point people to old posts in a response rather than generate a new targeted content to the latest MD versions function. Lazy I know. The application has modernized and the latest workflows have started to become buried in being pointed to some of that old cyclic post/thread noise. So maybe re-invigorating daily questions with fresh answers is a good thing. However there are certainly other content areas like show and tell, which dealt with project specific garments on show case that differ, that is maybe more deserving of being curated in some delightful way as it represents more effort in how people have used MD as an end point over the years and is perhaps worthy of being sifted through for longer term curation.
I like the idea of a frequent spring clean, and certainly are not one to hold back on use of the delete button (frequently), but equally I recognize the effort many other patrons of MD have shown over the years in content building with projects they have wanted to showcase technically. So don't universally throw the 'baby' out with the bath-water in having that healthy clean-out, many others may not appreciate their effort being thrust into 'never-never' land, with no way to reference it.
:-)
The old forums were the single greatest source of information on using this program. Whenever i search for something the old links show up on google and unfortunately non of them work. They aren't available on wayback machine also. Please make them accessible in some way
Supporting this request. We did all put a lot of effort into the content on the old forum.
totally agree we need them back please! ! !
Just adding my two cents here. I personally contributed some posts with workflow tips that I know were considered useful by many people over the years. I also found the body of knowledge in the old forum to be invaluable to me and I often searched for information. I appreciate the new site and forum very much, but I do hope it is recognized what an extraordinarily valuable source of information that is. Anything that can be done to make it available to users will benefit your users greatly. I believe it should be a high priority to somehow make that information available again.
