I'm using cinema4D to create the UV, then iI export to MD via OBJ.
this is how it looks on C4D
Why in MD is so different?
Sometimes, with complex shapes it fails to trace 2d patterns, is there any specific roules to follow?

Hi Monlinari.
Thank you for contacting us,
The "Trace 2D Patterns from UV Map" feature would not work with circular UVs because the pattern pieces in Marvelous Designer need at least one segment point to function, and for a circle, the software can not find a place to create a segment point.
When using the "Trace 2D Patterns from UV Map" feature, you still need to follow the basic pattern-making principles when laying out your UVs.
The below image is what a pattern for a sphere would look like in pattern making.
Best regards,

Thank you
Hi Support Agent
still some problems with C4D,
this is what MD gets from C4D UV
What can I do to get all the parts?
Hi Monlinari,
It seems like the only UV shell that was not able to be traced by the "Trace 2D Patterns from UV Map" feature is the circular piece. The "Trace 2D Patterns from UV Map" feature would not work with circular UVs because the pattern pieces in Marvelous Designer need at least one segment point to function, and for a circle, the software can not find a place to create a segment point.
However, you can simply cut your circle UV in half, and in Marvelous Designer, you can chose to stitch it together or merge the lines to get your circle pattern back.
Or create the circle using the create circle tool in Marvelous Designer using the measurement of your circle in C4D. You can single left click with the circle tool selected and input the Diameter, Radius or Circumference value to create your circle.
Best regards,

Hi Support Agent
i was referring to my second post, obj import problems.
i don't know if it's a MD issue or a Cinema4D...
Hi, still struggling with this issue with version 7.3.133
Importing OBJ to garmet looks like Trace 2D patterns from UV map doesn't work.
I double checked my OBJ file with Cinema4D an Rhinoceros and both shows UV maps are there.
please help me!!!
