Hello, I'm trying to use a 2d graphic as a button rather than the 3d modeled buttons, placing it over the buttonhole on the 2d pattern. When I first place the graphic I use as a button, it looks fine in the 3d and 2d windows, but if I export the texture, the buttonhole and topstitch are printed over the 2d graphic. Selecting "move to front" sorting order on the 2d graphic does not change the result (buttonholes and topstitch are still on top when exported). Strangely, selecting "move to front" (or back) moves the 2d graphic behind the buttonhole and topstitch in the 3d and 2d view (i.e. messes up the sorting order in the viewports) and only reloading the project fixes the view. Is there a way to make the 2d graphic cover the buttonhole/topstitch texture when exporting?
No, the button hole is the button hole mesh with a decal image applied. You would need to create a custom round button hole in the form of a button + buttonhole with the accompanying mesh shape and apply that image texture such that it all exports. Eg: a custom button hole.
