So I made a model in makehuman, and imported to blender for additional sculpting, then into MD to clothe her, my problem is I export from blender to adjust things, then export to mixamo. For some reason in animation the cape is sticking to the back of the models legs and moving with them at the corners, or the entire leg and foot clipping through it.and despite having it on a separate layer, it seems to want to contour to the avatar's body instead of just hanging off the back like a cape would. Is there a setting or tick box I'm missing to make it so the avatar cant clip through the mesh, or something to make it so the cape doesn't contour to the back of her?want to stick to the body?
That is because Mixamo is not calculating any cloth animations. It is only calculating the avatar's rigging/movement for the animation. You will need to bring the fbx/dae/etc. file of the avatar's animation into MD and create a cloth sim animation there.
So would I have my original project open as well for this or just make a new project with the animation file?
Best to make a new project. That preserve the original work, in a smaller file, as the animation and such will add a lot of data.
I've looked into trying this and tbh it's a whole process that's beyond me, I'm just going to roll with what I have i guess.
