Does anyone knows how to import quad mesh to MD as garment without changing the polygon exist?
hi, I think it is supposed to be possible to do that as long as MD have importing system as garment.
but i can't figure it out.
I have done retopology at MAYA because keep bugging in MD's new retopo feature.. it's not doable yet. which sucks
anyway, so I tried to import my quad mesh(retopoed) into MD as garment. but it keep changing my mesh into triangular. that makes my retopo work meaningless.. sigh.
if I import it with the option of 2D tracing check box, it changes my mesh completely to MD style garment..
I just want to keep my fixed mesh and want to simulate without changing.
but can't figure it out. Also.. my triangulated mesh can't do Sewing cuz it doesn't appear at the 2D work space..
I don't understand.. anyone can help? please
Hello @...,
When you import as a garment - It will remesh into the native tri-mesh for the most realistic cloth simulation. You can use quad mesh by right clicking the pattern in the 3D window and choose "Remesh" and it will make it quad-mesh.
thank you for the response.
unfortunately.. the imported obj to garment mesh couldn't do remesh in MD because there is no feature by right clicking the garment in 3D screen.
the "Remesh" only appears when you right click the mesh created by MD. not for imported obj garment..
So i can't do that sadly..
but thank you. let me know if you have any further solution!
