Can I Disable Auto Synchronize

No you cannot manually switch off auto sync.

However you can work smarter around the issue, by setting the draft mesh density for flat patterns being edited low (eg:50mm) to overcome it kicking in so frequently then carry out all garment design edits before you do a high poly count simulation.

Do I have to live with it?

Isn't it possible from programming-side to synchronize only, when the user want to simulate or to exclude this as an external process, which can work in the back?

This is the second thread I found, where someone ask for that, with the same unsatisfiying answer.

Here is my situation: I want to make 5 edits, an after the first edit I wait for half a minute of synchronizationtime. Than I can do 2 or 3 edits and it begins anew to work, also for 30 sec.... Than I can finally make my 5th touch. Than I activate the simulation an I wait anew. Workingtime Artist: 1min., Workingtime program:1:30min. ... .

When I create details like ribbons, riffles, etc. I can't downsample my patterns to 50mm. 10mm are just a bit to rough, to decide, if the ribbon looks fine. While I´m working in the 2D Pattern Window I´m not interested, what happends in the 3D Window, if no simulation is going.

Are there other solutions exept to downsample the geometry?
