Hello,
I'm a Newbie to MD. I'm making a standing collar which is working well but in order to get it to stand up on a Victorian dress I had to use "strengthen" and it looks good. The dress is fitted on an imported Metahuman Avatar from Unreal Engine. Image is attached.
My questions are...
1. When something is strengthened it turns beige. How do I get the fabric color to show and not the beige color?
2. Is strengthen the best option to use for this?
3. Regarding the inset on the front of the torso it's two pieces that are buttoned. How can I give the illusion of some thickness to it? Just use the thickness setting in the fabric? Clone the pattern on top?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Hello edit1112003,
Thank you for contacting us!
1. Unfortunately, there's no way to see the real fabric in case you apply STRENGTHEN to the pattern.
2. Yes, I think so. STRENGTHEN is a good feature to make a standing collar.
3. Yes, you are right. You may increase Add'l Thickness - Rendering (mm) setting in the fabric physical property editor, like the image below. In this case, please don't forget to turn "Thick Textured Surface" in the 3D Window. However, more realistic effect, you can use Layer Clone (Over or Under) the pattern, as well.
I hope this information helps you! Should you have any other questions, please let me know anytime!
