Is it ever advisable to change the default gravity setting of -9800.00?
My models are always in centimeter units. Since millimeters are (apparently) Marvelous Designer's default unit, should I multiply this setting by 10?
Thanks.

The gravity is correct whether it is centimeters or millimeters. It is the same as 9.8 meters/second/second. You won't have to adjust for the milli- or centi- version.
However, it is sometimes very useful to change the value (and/or the sign to positive....The minus sign means that the gravity pulls in a downwards direction). For example, setting the value to zero gives you *surprise!* a zero gravity situation. Setting the sign to positive means things will pull upwards unless fixed. These changes can do some delightful things to your garments.
Thank you. Good to know that MD's default setting is real-world regardless of scale. I'll experiment with it as you suggest. I can see where setting it to zero might be helpful when making initial pattern arrangements.
Setting it to zero is often best when you are tying knots, then it really helps to have the lengths floating as you gently pull them around. So for tasks like that definitely use 'zero' G.
Or for objects that need to 'Float'.
You can also use negative gravity to make arches and vaults. Pin the corners of a cloth to the floor and let it float up.
You then kind of copy what Gaudi did to design the Sagrada Familia. He made a model of the main structure as ropes and weights that he hung from the ceiling.
Last time I was in Barcelona that model was still on display there.
