Hi,
I need to create a plastic tube (20mm dia.) that is attached from avatar backpack and avatar wrist. I have created a tube pattern and able to simulate the tube but the tube is all lumpy. How can I get the properties to make the tube smooth and a little more rigid?
Thanks
METHOD 1:
If you make a cloth tube as a wrapped piece of cloth you need to lower the fabrics particle mesh distance and set the rectangular pattern to quad remesh (beta), then use the subdivision brush to lower that again, that will then create REGULAR smaller facets on the cloth as it wraps around a tight diameter.
METHOD 2:
The alternative is to actually use a a thin strip rectangular pattern, at 0.1mm width and the length you need, then change the view mode to thick textured view (Alt+1) and select that pattern piece > Property editor > toggle on curvature add in 100% curvature to the pattern piece edges > then set the additional render thickness to the radius/diameter of the chord /tube you are simulating. You will now have a high poly tube.
