I am trying to create a superhero suit with obj imported armor like knee pads and chest pieces. I was wondering how I can integrate obj's when I simulate.
Currently, I can import obj's that just float there but don't move or apply physics to the garment.
Ideally, I want an avatar wearing a suit with rigid components that sit on top of the suit and will be able to be animated is this possible?
Hi Smit Bradley,
Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately, we currently do not have full support for rigid body simulation.
Here are some workarounds, however, please keep in mind that the workarounds all have its weaknesses that may work well in your case.
1. Import your OBJ as a button or trim and attach to the garment surface, and you can set the weight in the prosperity editor. However, this method will create only one point for constraint from your OBJ mesh to one point on the garment.
2. Creating your armor pieces (or import OBJ as garment and Trace 2D Patterns from UV Map). Use pressure to inflate it. Applying a fabric with high value of bending and starching stiffness and use the tack tools to constraint to your garment. Also apply strengthen to the armor pieces. This method would give you good constraint result but the armor pieces would not be fully rigid.
