Hi, so basically I just recently started with creating clothes in marvelous designer 8 but I got a problem with importing the object into blender. I even watched a couple tutorials but none of them could help me fix the problem. Basically what I noticed is that when you export the object from marvelous designer another screen pops up where you can select some stuff and a lot of people got this one sentence in the file section "Save with Absolute Texture Image File Path" which doesn't shows up for me. Instead the file section starts with "Save with Texture Files (ZIP)" and I don't know if I have to click on it.
I would really appreciate it, if you could help me out! (:
Hi Lina,
Thank you for contacting us,
Both options only affect the location where the texture images are saved, it would have noting to do with your Geometry file (.OBJ).
If you chose Absolute Texture Image File Path (which is by default), Marvelous Designer will save the texture files related to your geometry into the same location with your .OBJ file. And "Save With Texture Files (.zip)" Exports the .OBJ file, .MTL file, and texture images used in the garment as one compressed file.
In both case you can import your .OBJ directly into Blender, and you would need to build the shader your self inside Blender. The shader you use depends on the render engine you are using.
Best regards,
