I want my zippers to use the same material groups instead of being seperate, please help!

I'm trying to export a pair of pants I made with six different zippers and i would like the different parts to be on the same material group (the teeth on one, the zipper base on the other, etc) rather than having them all on a seperate material group. How would I go about doing so? Right now, with the few other material groups to the pants, I am getting 61 material groups. would rather have way less than that!

 

Any help would be appreciated.
