Create Binding
Objective
Easily create Binding along Pattern Outlines.
Location
Main Menu ▶ Materials ▶ Binding ▶ Binding
3D Toolbar ▶ Binding
Operation
1. Select the tool/menu indicated in Location.
→ Pattern Outlines and Internal Lines where Binding can be created appear in dashed lines.
2. On a 3D Garment or 2D Pattern, click the start point and double click where you want to finish the Binding.
→ Binding is created on the selected segment.
→ Its properties appear in the Property Editor.

※Note: 3D toolbar ▶ Select bindings with the Select/Move tool.
Operation
1. Select the tool/menu indicated.
→ The line segment for which the binding was created is displayed.
2. Select the Binding to be edited.
→ Its properties appear in the Property Editor.
3. Configure each property as needed referring to below table.
Option | Description | ||
Name | Rename Binding's name. | ||
Line Length | Check Binding's length. However, it cannot be changed from the Property Editor. | ||
Type | Under | Bindings are placed under the Patterns to express Inside Bindings. | |
Over | Bindings are placed over the Patterns. | ||
Both | Bindings are placed both direction of the Patterns. | ||
Dimension | Width | Adjust selected Binding's width. (1~50mm) | |
Length | Adjust selected Binding's length with percentage (50% ~ 200%) or a specific value. | ||
Particle Distance | Edit selected Binding's Particle Distance (4~20mm) | ||
Add'l Thickness - Collision | Adjust Binding's Add'l Thickness - Collision. | ||
Fabric | Assign Fabric to the Binding. Fabric styles in the Fabric Object Browser appear in a list. |

Grain Direction |
Bias/ Warp/ Custom |
Choose among Bias, Warp, or Custom for the Binding's grain direction. | |
Angle | Manually insert Angle value to set the Binding's grain direction. | ||
Topstitch |
Add Topstitch to the Binding. The Topstitch option shows the styles which are added in the Topstitch tab of Object Browser. |

Sewing Line Type | Edit Binding's Sewing Line Type. | ||
Extend |
Set whether to extend the binding after creating it on a part of the line segment. When the angle of both segments are more than 180 degrees based on the binding start/end point. |
4. Right-click on the Binding to be edited.
Option | Description |
Delete | Delete selected Binding. |
Reset Arrangement | Reset Binding's position. Use this option to fix unstable simulations. |
Deactivate / Activate | Deactivate or activate selected Binding. |
Freeze / Unfreeze | Freeze or unfreeze selected Binding. |
Flip Normal | The selected Binding's face flips to the other side. |
