Temporarily overrides global and fabric simulation properties during pinching.
Location
To enable Pinching Simulation Override dialog:
- In the 3D window, use the mouse to right-click an empty area, then select Simulation Properties. Alternatively, go to Settings > Simulation Properties.
- Enable the Pinching Simulation Override checkbox.
When Pinching Simulation Override is enabled, the Pinching Simulation Override dialog appears whenever a Pinching tool is activated in Simulation mode.
Operation
Rest Shape
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Update Rest Shape | Updates the Rest Shape using the current 3D state. |
| Reset Rest Shape | Restores the Rest Shape to its original pattern-based state. |
| Selected Patterns / All Patterns | Sets the scope to which the Rest Shape update or reset is applied. |
| Show Rest Shape Override | Displays patterns with changed Rest Shapes in gray in the 3D window. |
Simulation Properties
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Override Strength | Sets how much Pinching Simulation Override is applied. 0 uses the original simulation properties, and 1 fully applies the override properties. |
| Global | Adjusts the global simulation properties used when the override is fully applied. |
| Fabric | Adjusts the fabric simulation properties used when the override is fully applied. The fabrics to override can be selected using checkboxes. |
※ Note
- Update Rest Shape changes the reference shape that the simulation restores toward, helping maintain the edited shape during pinching.
- Updating the Rest Shape causes the result to differ from the original pattern-based shape and area. Repeated updates can increase this difference.
- Pinching Simulation Override is designed to support editing the base garment shape through pinching, not simulations driven by moving collision objects.
- To maintain the edited shape in Animation Record, apply Solidify after pinching.
