When Importing or Exporting 3D files, users can save their configured options as a preset for reuse. These preset files can also be shared, allowing users to distribute organizational standards and policies.
Add Preset
- Go to File > Import/Export to import 3D file.
- Configure the desired options in the Import dialog.
- Click the Preset >
Add button at the top of the dialog.
- In the Create Configuration dialog, set the Preset Path and Name.

Click Save button to store the preset. The saved preset will then be selected in the Preset dropdown.
- The saved preset can be selected during future imports to consistently apply the configured settings
- Default Path: C:\Users\Public\Documents\MarvelousDesigner\Configuration\Preset\Import
Preset Options
| Option | Description |
| Add | Add a new preset. |
| Remove | Delete the currently selected preset. |
| Open Folder | Open the folder where the currently selected preset is saved. |
Supported File Formats
Only 3D file formats are supported
- OBJ, FBX, Alembic, USD
- Maya Cache (MC, MCX), Point Cache 2, MDD Cache (Standard, Maya/3ds Max), OBJ Sequence
📝 Note:

Each 3D file type uses its own dedicated JSON file and cannot be used with other types.
- e.g., an Export FBX preset cannot be used for Export OBJ

Import and Export used separate dedicated JSON files.
- e.g., an Import FBX preset cannot be used for Export FBX
