Register OBJ Topstitch
Objective
Save custom OBJ files as a Topstitch in a *.sst format file type.
Location

Operation

Follow the indicated guideline below:
Object Browser ▶ Topstitch Tab ▶ Default Topstitch
→ Properties of the selected Topstitch appear in the Property Editor. -
Please check that your OBJ meets the requirements below before attempting to register an OBJ as a Topstitch.

Position the face of an OBJ towards the Y-axis.

Position the contact point of an OBJ where it should be attached to 3D garments at 0,0,0 (x,y,z) coordinates.

The unit of OBJs must be in mm.

Select the button on the right of OBJ to load your custom Topstitch

※Recommended:
Please maintain the number of vertices of an OBJ below 1000 to avoid speed issues.
The distance between an OBJ and the ground should be 0. (You can adjust the distance in Marvelous Designer)
Register Texture Topstitch
Objective
Save customized Topstitch object or texture files in a *.sst format file.
Location
Object Browser ▶ Topstitch Tab ▶ Default Topstitch
Operation

Follow the indicated guideline below:
Object Browser ▶ Topstitch Tab ▶ Default Topstitch
→ Properties of the selected Topstitch appear in the Property Editor.

Navigate to the Property Editor ▶ Type and select Texture from the drop-down menu.

Under the Material section, select the same structured Topstitch as the one customized.

Navigate to the Property Editor ▶ Material ▶ Texture and click the Topstitch image icon or the Search button.
→ The Open file window appears.

Find the path to the customized images and select the one only with the name of Topstitch (ex. "zigzag.png") and click Open.
→ The program automatically saves all five images in a *.sst file according to the defined naming rule.
→ The image is loaded in actual size, which is approximately 2cm. It may look bigger than other preset Topstitches.

Navigate to the Property Editor ▶ Material ▶ Preset and enter the desired value in the Stitch Width menu (ex. 5mm) to adjust its size.

On the top right of the Property Editor, there is a Save button. Select to save.
→ The Save file window appears.

Enter the desired name and location and save.
→ The Topstitch is now saved in the *.sst file format.
※ Note:
Topstitches are classified into two different types depending on the presence or absence of the Stitch Width property. For example, when adding zigzag-style top stitches, select Overlock or Zigzag as its width needs to be adjustable.
