Objective
Sculpt garments using various brush tools.
Location
3D Window ▶ Sculpt Tool
Operation
- Select Sculpt tool from the 3D Toolbar. The Sculpt dialog window will appear.
- Select any Brush from the Brush toolbar. Check the brush Size and Focal settings when hovering over a 3D garment.
- Adjust each attributes for each brush: Size, Focal, Realistic, Layer, Spacing, Depth
- Click and drag on 3D garment to sculpt. Press Shift key on the keyboard while using any type of Brush tool to smooth out.
- In Sculpt mode, the garment appears in gray by default. To change the garment's color during sculpting, enable the Custom Material option. When Custom Material is disabled, you'll see the garment's original texture.
Brush Types
Wrinkle | Left-click and drag to create wrinkles on the brush area. (ver. 10) | |
Release | Left-Click + Shift and drag to release wrinkles on brush area (ver. 10) | |
Sculpt | Emboss mesh. With invert option activated. engraves mesh. | |
Smooth | Makes the surface flat on average. (Shortcut: Shift) | |
Grab | Moves vertices to express pulled surface. | |
Stamp | Use an image as a stamp. | |
Pinch | Close the position of the vertices, makes the surface sharper. |

Option
Custom Material | Allows assignment of a temporary material while the Sculpt Tool is activate. To maintain the Garment Rendering Style(e.g., monochrome, wireframe) from the 3D Window, disable this option. |
Color | Specifies the color of the material. |
Roughness | Slider Adjusts surface roughness to control light diffusion. |
Metalness | Modifies reflection intensity to enhance the visibility of surface Curvature. |
Double Sides | Toggle on/off with Double Side option activated, apply custom material to both back and front side of mesh. |
Using an Alpha Texture as Brush
- Click button next to Image.
- Click an Image from default images.
- Focal setting is not available for image brush. - Click & Drag on 3D garment to Sculpt.
- Click & Drag to adjust the size and angle for Stamp brush. - To turn off an image, click button and select Off.
- Focal setting appears on brush property after turning off image.
Adding Alpha Texture
- Click
button next to image.
- Select an image on the file browser.
- Click & Drag on 3D garment to Sculpt.
- Click & Drag to adjust the size and angle for Stamp brush. - After adding image, can load the image by clicking button next to the image.
Show/Hide 3D Pattern (Shortcut Shift + Q)
- Show selected pattern only
- Select a pattern while input Shift + Q, other patterns will be hidden. - Reverse selected pattern/hidden pattern
- After operating no.1 above, click on the selected pattern while input Shift + Q to reverse hidden pattern/ selected pattern. - Adding hidden patterns
- To hide additional patterns, click on a pattern which you want to hide while input Shift + Q. - Show All 3D Patterns
- Click on the background while input Shift + C (Shift + Q for Ver. 2024.2 and below) to show all pattern.
