Objective
Use this function to apply gravity and drape the 3D Garments in the 3D Garment window. Pressing the Simulate button causes all 3D Garments to fall toward the floor and drape onto Avatars and similar objects with collision that are in the way.
Location
Main Menu ▶ 3D Garment ▶ Simulate
3D Toolbar ▶ Simulate
Operation
- Follow the indicated guideline below:
Main Menu ▶ 3D Garment ▶ Simulate
3D Toolbar ▶ Simulate
→3D Garments in the 3D window drapes on Avatars.
→When the Simulation is activated, the tool automatically switches to the Select/Move tool (ver5.1.0.)
※Note:
- Simulation presets are added to the 3D toolbar (ver. 4.2.0). Long press the Simulate tool icon to access the additional options.
Name Description Normal (Default) Select Simulate(Normal) when working on a 3D Garment.
- When the simulation preset is set to Simulate(Normal), You can work on the 3D Garment efficiently with the fastest simulation speed setting.
Animation (Stable)
Garment simulation is more defined with higher simulation quality settings, the simulation speed will likely decrease.
- Use this preset when recording animation caches.
Fitting
(Accurate Fabric)Garment simulation is more defined and fabric stretch is expressed more realistically, this is the slowest but most accurate to real world simulation setting.
CPU
CPU based simulation.
GPU
GPU based simulation. Depending on the computer specification, the simulation speed can increase.
※ Note: GPU simulation feature is greatly improved in (ver. 2024.2) with same collision handing accuracy as CPU simulation. The results from CPU and GPU based simulations are matched, with minimal differences.
※ Note: - Users can select CPU/GPU from simulation toolbar with different simulation presets. (ver. 2024.2)
- Animation (Stable) is added into Simulation Toolbar. Users may opt to run simulations prior to recording an animation. (ver. 2024.2)
- GPU acceleration for Trim Simulation and Soft Body Simulation are limited in the current version. (ver. 2024.2)
- Adjustments to 2D Patterns' points and segments are reflected in the 3D window in real-time (ver. 4.2.0). The real-time Simulation (Interactive Editing) is unavailable from Marvelous Designer ver. 4.2.0's last patch.
